A vampire got to him, and from what I have gathered throughout the journals, others have fallen victim to the same individual as well. His name is Angelus, and he is behaving this way because of the experiment. Judging by the recent entries, however, someone from his world already has him successfully neutralized, hence the threat should now be considerably lessened.
