18th post: [Action]

[Arche's decided to take a break from people.

To this end, she's stored her journal in a desk at home and set out away from the town. She's currently by the lake, a bag of provisions lying next to her and a thermos of hot tea in her hands. Where she'll go from here she's got no idea.

If you're down around there, talk to her and try to find out what's up if you like. Don't expect her to be all that forthcoming though.]

[As a matter of fact, Macbeth happens to be down by the lake. He stands out quite a bit in that black longcoat of his. At the moment he doesn't seem to notice that there's someone else around, due to having been there for awhile now. He doesn't seem to be doing much of anything, just standing on the bank and staring at the frozen ice.]

[Arche's not paying all that much attention to her surroundings, but she'd have to be blind not to notice Macbeth nearby. Her eyes flicker to him for a while, but she doesn't try to strike up any conversation. Instead she sips at her tea and goes back to looking out at the lake, deciding to ignore him unless he talks to her.]

[After a few more minutes, Macbeth will at last turn, making ready to leave. But in doing so, he becomes aware that he's not alone. He gives her a curt nod as he walks towards her direction, at least to go by her. However he stops about a dozen feet from her before carrying on.]

[When she notices he's paying attention to her, she manages to pull up a friendly smile.]

It's a pretty sight. I usually fly over it, but this is nice to relax and think.

[He quirks an eyebrow at the bit about flying, but says nothing. He's heard stranger, in any case.]

Aye. There are few lakes still as clear and undisturbed where I live. In a way, it reminds me of my native Scotland when I was but a lad.

That they have. But I myself have moved on as well, to a city with over seven million residents. [He chuckles at that, almost bitterly.] Ach, had someone told me when I was still nae yet grown that I would end up like I am now, I'd have called them a fool.

Seven million in one city? Wow... how do they all fit?

[That gets a little chuckle.] Isn't that true of everyone? I mean, some of us more than others, but our kid selves'd never believe what we grow up to be and do.

Perhaps, but I don't believe my younger self had quite the imagination for it. On the other hand though, I'm sure ye've quite a way to go before that becomes an issue, lassie.

[Minato is out walking today because he's feeling contemplative and there isn't much else to do. He didn't expect to run into someone else by the lake, though. Especially not someone bright pink. He recognizes her as that girl Nephry switched bodies with and he's run into a few times since, but... doesn't remember her name. Oh well. The question now is whether to hang back, or approach...]

[She's remarkably still. If it weren't for the fact that her eyes are wide open and she occasionally takes a sip from her thermos of tea, it might look like she was asleep, or possibly suffering hypothermia.

She either hasn't noticed Minato walking by, or hasn't decided to acknowledge him. Which is very strange behavior for Arche, but he'd have to know her in order to recognize that...]

[After watching her for a minute he decides the stillness is potentially not a good sign and approaches. And since the calendar says it's snowing today he tilts the umbrella he's carrying over her head.]

It's a little wet to sit too long.

[I completely missed that, but it only makes it better She lifts her head to blink at him in surprise, then gives a little smile and points up.]

The tree helps. I'm only gonna be here until I'm done thinking anyway.

[Taking a break from people, eh? The problem with straying away from the village is that you'll eventually run into other loners. Yuan happens to be out by the lake because, really, going out into the forest to train is the closest thing to a hobby he has in Luceti.

When he notices Arche, he pauses in his strides. Half-elven blood? She looks familiar, but he's not entirely sure if they've ever had a conversation. He's been here for two years now and he's seen hundreds of people come and go. It's getting hard to keep track.]

[She can feel another half-elf nearby, though there's definitely something odd about this one. Feels kinda like... Dhaos?

She can't help it. Turning to look at him, Arche looks up and down at the guy standing not all that far away from her. Curiosity overcomes her desire to be alone right now, and she has to ask.]

Are you... Aselian?

[Well, that confirmed his suspicions about the girl. Sadly, it just leads to more questions. Is she from two years in the future when the Ratatosk fiasco occurs or even further ahead? He knows there was another Aselian group, but ironically, the only person he's ever spoken to originating from that time was Dhaos. Heck, she could even be from another timeline entirely.]

I'm Arche Klaine... Half-elf, though I suppose you knew that already.

Um... not to be rude here, but what are you, exactly?

[Well, that was a blunt question if he's ever heard one. He knows he's likely giving off slightly different vibes from the average half-elf, but that's no reason to play into her hands so easily.]

The same as yourself. Half-elves come in all shapes and sizes.
